#Trained Set of 24 Sports Cones #Review

We've had some indecisiveness going an aroung here surrounding soccer season.  First the Big One wants to play, then she wants a break, then Streaker wants to play (WHAT!?), then The Big One will try it out, but no promises.  *Sigh*  It's been one of those weeks.  But regardless, I'm pretty sure that at least one of them is going to be playing.  Right now, two of them are signed up and by some miracle they both got practice on the same days and same times at the same place!  So it makes sense that they will practice at home on their off-nights which will also be the same night.  WOOT!
So to practice, we're implementing the agility ladder and a new set of 24 Sports Cones from Trained.  We're going to use them for practice with aiming the ball, changing direction, passing it in play, and general agility.  We're really excited to have these cones to work with.  The Big One was especially excited that we had our very own set of sports cones.  She will be using them a lot.
The very first thing that we noticed about the cones was that it came with a pretty convenient carrying strap.  It's great because you can just throw it over your shoulder and go.  The cones are very lightweight and portable and take up so little room.  They can definitely fit in the trunk no matter how full it is.
The second thing that we noticed was how thin and flexible the cones are.  I don't think that any normal use would make these break.  They stack very compactly because they are so thin.  I was not expecting that at all, I really was expecting something more like we have at the school.  Those ones are the same type shape, but are thicker and take up much more space.
So we decided to take them out and try them.  First we made a line of them, spaced a couple feet apart and tried weaving the ball back and forth to work on direction changing.  They worked really well for this purpose and we'll definitely be doing more throughout the season.
The second thing that we tried with them was some agility drills.  The purchase comes with an ebook of agility drills that you can do with them.  The girls will use those drills to help them be better at soccer and I will run them with them just to lose weight, cause why not?  We found that they work well for this purpose too, they are pretty versatile little things.
When we were done doing the soccer practice and agility training, we both helped pick them up.  It was so fast and easy, it took under ten seconds to puck them all up.  I don't think it would have been so fast had they been the thicker cones.  But because they are so light and thin, it was a snap to grab them up with one hand.  We then combined them and Streaker begged to be the one to put them back on their strap and into the box.
We thought about all the ways that we could use the sports cones and the one that got me most excited was to use them as mock bases to help Punk with Softball.  Obviously we probably wouldn't want to jump onto them, but they would definitely serve that purpose.  We could use them for obstacle courses and races.  There really is no end to what you could use these for.  We'll be using them a LOT during the sports months for sure.
What would you use them for?
